FAQ

What are the new consumer trends in tourism?

Staying ahead of the curve is key to success in any industry. If you don’t consider how consumers act now, then you will be left behind. You should be on the lookout for new consumer trends.

The most significant trend impacting travel is the rise in social media. Social media allows consumers to share more information about what they do, where they went, and how they feel about it. This means that travelers are becoming increasingly aware of the places they visit and becoming far more vocal about those experiences.

Social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter allow users to share photos, videos, blogs, reviews, and opinions with friends and followers. These sites play a significant role in helping us understand destinations. Social media helps us to connect with locals and learn about the culture.

Another important change is the rapid growth of mobile tech. Smartphones and tablets are being used more than computers by people. ComScore claims that smartphone penetration grew from 23% in 2011 to 27% last year. Mobile devices have changed the way we interact with information and communicate. There are apps that can do almost everything, from booking flights to ordering food, finding directions and even watching movies, to checking the weather forecasts and finding out where to go.

Mobile technology is changing how we travel. We can book hotels, view maps, read reviews, and make restaurant reservations from our phones. You can check your email while you wait in line at restaurants and museums. And, while driving, you can also listen to music. All these improvements mean that we travel smarter and faster.

These two big shifts are not the only ones that affect travel. There are also many smaller trends that impact travel. For example, people are now able to use smartphones to find events and attractions near them. Foursquare and Yelp were apps that helped travelers plan their trips based on the recommendations of friends. These apps are changing the way we experience and discover cities.

Companies that offer services for tourists are growing in number. These companies offer customized tours, transportation and accommodations as well other amenities. They help visitors enjoy the city without the hassle of planning everything themselves.

There are many opportunities for travel marketers looking to take advantage of the latest trends. But it takes smart marketing strategies to identify which ones apply to your business and which won't matter much when attracting customers.

What are consumer trends?

Consumer trends are becoming more important than ever as they have a direct impact on our daily lives. They are also a key factor in shaping the future of commerce and business.

The world of today is changing faster than ever. We are living in an era where technology is advancing at an exponential rate. Our lives become more connected and mobile. Unprecedented levels of change are occurring.

This means adapting quickly is what will make you successful in the long-run. The ones who keep up with the times are those who succeed.

As consumers, we now have options that were impossible to imagine just a few decades ago. This creates enormous opportunities for businesses as well. It also comes with challenges.

For example, there is a huge demand for convenience, driving the growth of online shopping and eCommerce. Consumers are looking for options and choice. Consumers expect to be able to find what they need when they need it.

They want to buy products or services that make sense to their needs. They want to be in a position to easily compare prices, read customer reviews, and share information.

These changes are fast and you can easily fall behind. So you must keep abreast of the latest developments and adopt strategies that help you to remain competitive.

Two key areas are essential to success in this environment: innovation and customer service. These are the keys for staying ahead of your competition.

It doesn't suffice just to offer excellent customer service or sell top-quality products. Innovation is key. And you must deliver exceptional customer service.

You may have heard about the term "customer obsession." It's the idea that you will exceed customers' expectations when you care deeply about them.

Your customers expect nothing less than the best service. It is a challenge that not many businesses realize this. They instead assume they should treat customers the same way as any other client.

They try to market their products and services by focusing on price and product features.

But customers aren’t necessarily buying products and services any more. Customers now have the option of choosing from many options.

Instead of competing on price alone, focus on creating unique value propositions. That's what will set you apart from your competitors.

This isn't about improving something. It's about providing something completely different.

How do you do this? By innovating!

By being creative!

Think outside the box!

And most importantly, by providing top-quality customer service.

What are teenagers most likely to buy?

Although there is a lot data available on consumer trends, none of it is useful for us. We looked at the data and decided to do our own analysis. We wanted to know which products and services teenagers purchased. Next, we examined how these purchases have changed over time.

Even us were shocked by the results. Turns out, when it comes to shopping habits, teens are pretty frugal. They spend more money on clothes than any other category except books. They spend more on technology than any other age group.

Teens are also big spenders on mobile phones, computers, and tablets. These devices were purchased by almost 2 billion dollars last year by 13-17-year-olds.

What is striking about this is that they don't spend much on apps, even though they may be spending a lot of money on electronics. Less than 1% of smartphone usage by teens is devoted to apps.

Most of them are now using smartphones to surf the Internet. They're using Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram. They play on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo and other gaming platforms.

They use their phones to communicate with friends, listen to music, and watch videos.

Now that's an interesting trend because it suggests that teens are increasingly relying on their mobiles, which makes sense given that they spend more time online.

They're also spending more time watching TV. Teens spend more time per week watching TV than any age apart from those between 5 and 9.

There are many reasons that people watch TV. One reason is that it's easy to control. They are more likely to stick to traditional media even though they have access to digital options.

Another reason is that they have more options. Switching channels is a great way for kids to have fun. They'll switch channels often and will choose whatever's on, rather than sticking with one channel.

It's simply fun. Teenagers love being able interact with characters onscreen, whether they're talking to their favourite celebrities or exploring new worlds where heroes can be found.

For all this, they're not happy with the quality of content they're seeing. According to a survey by Common Sense Media, 90% of parents say they'd prefer their kids watch less TV if it meant better shows. Two-thirds would prefer their kids to play videogames than watch TV, according to Common Sense Media.

This shouldn't be surprising. We all know that obesity is more common in children who spend more time on TV. Harvard University has just released new research.

It found that each additional hour of TV viewing per day was associated with a 2.5-point increase in BMI among children aged 6 to 11.

It might be time that we think about ways to help our children move away from screens. Perhaps we should make sure that they have healthy snacks and beverages available.

Maybe we should encourage them to take up sports. All age groups have a declining level of physical activity, according to new data. Therefore, we must take action.

Good news! There are many ways we can improve young people’s health. Simply look at all the evidence.
